Cayo Guillermo, Cuba

Cayo Guillermo Kitesurf

In March this year, I had the chance to do a last-minute kitesurfing trip to Cuba, Cayo Guillermo, my friend Philipp was there and he was having such an amazing time that I couldn’t resist joining him.

It was my second time visiting Cayo Guillermo and once again, the wind was au Rendez-Vous!

Cuba Flat water Kitesurfing

I went there in 2015, I met a great group of French Canadians.  I wasn’t surprised to see most of them again this year. It’s THE SPOT for Canadians from Quebec and Ontario.

Be aware that it’s impossible not to stay at a resort when in Cayo Guillermo. If you expect high gastronomy, excellent hotel service, and amazing activities during the no-wind days, find another destination! And when the wind doesn’t show up the mosquitos are vicious! Don’t forget your bug spray.  When the wind picks up, you will experience great flat and shallow water, endless possibilities for down or up-winders, many shades of blue in the water, some choppy spots, and waves. You will want to go back for sure.

Contact me if you plan to go there and are looking for a buddy. 🙂
