kiteboarding or snowkiting?
At KiteSomewhere, we believe that taking lessons with an experienced IKO Instructor will save you time and money. We are also convinced that you will progress faster while having the opportunity to meet the local community. Safety is our number one priority! We adapt our lessons to each student and make sure you learn at your own pace.
When the discovery lesson is completed and mastered, you can move to the next IKO levels,
if you are at least 14 years old and in good physical health.
KiteSomewhere gives lessons locally in Alberta, mainly around Calgary.
We will send a notice to our students when the weather is optimal for lessons.
Discovery Lesson
Price: $150
Discovery Lesson with KiteSomewhere!
You don’t need any experience, and anyone can do it!
This is a 2hrs land lesson to help you understand the equipment, the wind, and the safety. The time depends on student’s knowledge, weather conditions during the course, spot configuration, etc. During this lesson, we will take you through flying a trainer kite. KiteSomewhere follows the IKO certification levels which you can find here.
When the discovery lesson is complete and mastered, you can move to the next IKO level, if you are at least 14 years old and in good physical health.
Intermediate Lesson
Price: $375
Kitesurfing Intermediate Course: Once you have mastered controlling the kite, we will get to the body dragging stage and beyond! It is time to get in the water with your IKO instructor. You will learn to use the kite power to body drag in all possible directions, water relaunch your kite, self-rescue, recover your board, etc.
Our lessons are customized to your learning style! We use the latest equipment that we love and trust. Expect at least 2 to 3 water lessons before you can get up and ride confidently.
KiteSomewhere follows the IKO certification levels, which you can find here. This lesson is in average 2.5 to 3hrs, depending on student’s knowledge, weather conditions during the course, spot configuration, etc.

Snowkiting Lesson

Snowkiting is a lot of fun. The Intro to Showkiting course teaches you the basics of snowkiting and all aspects of safety. This class can take place any day based on weather conditions and availability
